Who you really are
Divine
The Divine is the infinite, all-pervading reality that the traditions name God — the boundless intelligence, love, and life in which everything exists and to which the soul ceaselessly longs to return. It is at once utterly transcendent, beyond all name and form, and utterly intimate, nearer to us than we are to ourselves. To seek the Divine is to seek the very ground of one's own being, for the same presence that upholds the cosmos dwells silently within the heart. The whole of the spiritual life is the discovery of this nearness.

The mystics across the ages speak with one voice of this great Reality. Augustine confesses that the heart is restless until it rests in God; Meister Eckhart sees with the very eye by which God sees; Psalm 46 gives the way of stillness through which God is known. Whether approached as the brilliant darkness of the apophatic mystics, the indwelling Spirit of the metaphysicians, or the Beloved of the Sufis, the Divine is both the goal of the search and its hidden beginning.
