Scarcity

Scarcity is lack made into a worldview, the deep assumption that there is not enough to go around and that one person's gain must be another's loss. Where lack is felt as personal absence, scarcity is the cosmology beneath it: a universe imagined as finite, competitive, and closing. The New Thought teachers oppose this with the doctrine of infinite supply, holding that the source from which all things come is unexhausted and impartial, and that competition is a belief, not a law.

The transmutation offered is a change of premise. Wattles urged the seeker to leave the competitive mind for the creative mind, ceasing to struggle for a slice and learning instead to call forth from the whole. To release scarcity is to stop bracing against an imagined shortage and to trust a generous ground, and from that trust the teachers say flows both peace and provision. The map treats abundance not as accumulation but as the natural condition of a mind that has put scarcity down.
By thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
There is a Science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic.
