Transformation and the path

Realization

Realization is the making-real of what was only believed, the instant a truth held in the head drops into the heart and becomes lived knowing. It is the bridge between concept and experience, the difference between hearing that you are free and tasting that freedom directly. The sages insist that no borrowed truth liberates; only what you realize for yourself can set you free.

In the nondual and New Thought currents alike, realization is the operative word for transformation: Troward speaks of coming into the full realization of awakened interior powers, while Vedanta names Self-realization as the goal of every life. To realize is to turn knowledge into being, to let the map become the territory under your own feet. It is the quiet click by which the whole teaching finally arrives where it was always pointing.
