Who you really are
Presence
Presence is the living quality of being fully here, fully now — awake to this moment without the veil of thought. It is not something you do but something you are when the compulsive thinking of past and future falls quiet and the simple aliveness of the present is felt directly. In presence the sense of a separate, striving self loosens, and what remains is a spacious, alert stillness that is also deeply at peace. It is the doorway through which the eternal enters the temporal.

The teachers of the now make this their whole instruction. Eckhart Tolle points again and again to the present moment as the only place life is ever found; the contemplatives speak of practicing the presence of God in the midst of ordinary work; the I AM tradition adores the indwelling Presence as the very life within. Psalm 46 gives the practice in a phrase — 'Be still' — for in stillness the Presence that was always here is at last recognized.
