Patience

Patience is the capacity to wait without resentment, to let things ripen in their own season. It is trust extended through time, the willingness to hold steady while the slow work of growth and grace unfolds beneath the surface. Where the anxious mind tears at the green fruit, patience lets the sun do its work.

The Stoics trained patience as endurance under hardship; the saints knew it as the long faithfulness that does not lose heart; the contemplatives practiced it as the calm acceptance of process. To be patient is to make peace with the pace of becoming, to plant and tend and trust, and to know that what is real cannot be hurried into being.
