Oneness and the absolute

Oneness

Oneness is the recognition that beneath the surface of separate things runs a single, undivided life. What appears as a world of many - many selves, many objects, many moments - is the play of one reality wearing countless faces. To know oneness is to feel the seam dissolve between you and what you behold, until the watcher and the watched are seen as one movement.

Every great stream of wisdom returns to this gate. The Upanishads name it Brahman, the Tao calls it the uncarved root, the mystics call it God, the physicists glimpse it as an unbroken whole. Oneness is not a belief to be argued but a seeing to be lived - and once seen, it quietly reorders the heart, dissolving the loneliness that comes from imagining oneself apart.
