Now
The Now is the single point at which life is ever actually touched. Past and future live only as thought; presence is the doorway through which being enters the world. To return attention to this instant is, in the teaching of Eckhart Tolle, to step out of the dream of time and into the aliveness that was always already here.
The traditions treat the present not as a thin slice between memory and anticipation but as the standing ground of awareness itself. Stillness, the inner body, the breath, the simple sense of being, these are the gateways the teachers name. When the mind grows quiet, the moment opens into a depth that feels timeless, and the seeker discovers that the Now and the Self are one.
In their words
Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.
Wherever you are, be there totally.
It is always still in the depths of the ocean, irrespective of the storms that may be raging on its surface.
You are not the body, you are not the mind — you are the awareness in which both appear.
