How mind makes reality
Causation
Causation, in the mind-power vision, is the principle that mind is the cause and conditions are the effect. Nothing in the visible world arises by chance; behind every outer circumstance stands an inner mental state that gave it birth. Thomas Troward built his science of mind upon this law: the subjective mind, impressed by thought, gives rise to corresponding external results. To grasp causation is to stop reading life backward from effects and to work instead at the level of cause, in consciousness itself.

This reverses the ordinary view that we are made by circumstance. Be a cause, not an effect, the Hermetic teaching urges; stand as the author of your experience rather than its victim. Within yourself lies the cause of whatever enters your life, and the one who knows this conditions their world from within. Causation is the keystone of the whole edifice, the law that makes desire, thought, and feeling more than wishful play. The seeker takes their seat at the causal level and works there.
