Transformation and the path
Liberation
Liberation is the soul's release from bondage, the end of the long captivity in ignorance and craving. The Indian traditions call it moksha, the freedom from the wheel of conditioned existence, and nirvana, the blowing-out of the fires of grasping that keep the self in pain. It is the supreme goal, the reason the whole path was laid down, for everything else is preparation for this final unbinding.

The teachers are clear that liberation is not a journey to a distant place but the dropping of a chain that was never truly locked. The very thought "I want to be free" is already free, Papaji says, and that thought can carry you home. The truth shall make you free, the Gospel promises; the bondage was only a case of mistaken identity, and liberation is the moment you stop believing you were ever bound.
