Hope
Hope is the forward-leaning trust that the good is possible, the lamp that the heart keeps burning in the dark. It is not naive optimism but the disciplined refusal to give up on the unseen, the conviction that what is longed for has substance even before it appears. Hope keeps the future open and the spirit upright.

The Christian tradition counts hope among the three great virtues, the anchor of the soul; the New Thought stream turns it toward expectation, the confident attitude that draws the good toward us. To live in hope is to hold a vision of what could be and to walk toward it, and the traditions teach that this very expectancy helps to call the desired good into form.
