Transformation and the path

Gnosis

Gnosis is direct, saving knowledge of the divine, the experiential acquaintance with reality that no doctrine can supply secondhand. It is not knowledge about God but knowledge of God, the kind that transforms the knower in the very act of knowing. For the Gnostics this gnosis was the spark by which the soul, forgetting its heavenly origin in the world of matter, remembers who it truly is and finds the way home.

The word runs as a golden thread through Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, and the mystical heart of every tradition, wherever seekers trust inner illumination over external authority. To know thyself, Hermes teaches, is to know the All, for the human spirit is a fragment of the divine mind. Gnosis is therefore both the method and the prize: the immediate seeing that closes the ancient wound of separation between the soul and its source.
