How mind makes reality

Expectation

Expectation is the quiet attitude that bends the future toward itself. It is not idle hope but the settled inner posture of one who already knows the good is on its way, so that the mind leans forward into its arrival. Where belief affirms a truth, expectation lives in the felt certainty that the truth is now becoming visible. The masters teach that the world has a way of meeting us at the level of what we confidently anticipate.

To cultivate expectation is to hold the attitude of expectant wonder, to dig the ditches before the rain, to expect a miracle as a daily habit of heart. It works because the subconscious takes the mood of assured anticipation as an instruction and arranges circumstance accordingly. Expectation turns waiting from anxiety into reverent readiness. Seekers who walk in steady expectancy find that doors open just ahead of their footsteps.
