The heart qualities

Detachment

Detachment is the freedom of the heart that loves without clinging, acts without grasping at the fruit. It is the loosening of the desperate grip on outcomes, possessions, and self-image, so that one can move through the world unburdened. Far from coldness, true detachment is the condition of a deeper, freer love, no longer tangled in need.

To practice detachment is to hold all things lightly, to let them come and go like clouds, and to rest in the unchanging awareness through which they pass.
You have a right to your actions, but never to your actions' fruits.Bhagavad Gita 2:47
