Christ
The Christ Within is the indwelling divine presence in every human being — not a man only, but the eternal spiritual nature that each soul carries as its truest self. In this understanding the kingdom of God is not a distant place but an inner reality, and the work of awakening is to bring forth the Christ already hidden within. It is the light by which we see, the divine sonship that belongs to all, the very image of God seeking to be born in the human heart. To realize it is to know oneself as a son or daughter of the Most High.

The mystics and metaphysicians have long taught this inner Christ. The Gospel of Thomas urges us to bring forth what is within; Luke locates the kingdom within you; Meister Eckhart speaks of the eternal birth of God in the soul; the New Thought teachers proclaim every person a potential Christ and God as wisdom waiting within to be led into manifestation. The practice is to behold the Christ in oneself and in every face.
