How mind makes reality

Affirmation

An affirmation is a positive statement of the desired truth, declared in the present tense until it sinks below the surface and becomes belief. The mind moves in the direction of its habitual statements, and so the seeker chooses words that build the wanted reality rather than rehearse the unwanted one. To affirm is to assert what you intend to be true as though it already were, training thought, speech, and feeling onto a single constructive line. Repetition is the craft: the statement returned to often enough and felt deeply enough passes into the deeper mind.

The traditions pair affirmation with denial, first releasing the false report, then asserting the truth, as in Unity's silence and Divine Science treatment. Affirmation is the everyday instrument of the practitioner, simple enough for a beginner and deep enough to anchor a life. Spoken in the affirmative and present, it reshapes the inner climate from which outer conditions grow. The seeker speaks themselves, day by day, into the person they choose to become.
