Self as sovereign creator

Story Waters (b. c. 1971) is a British author and teacher whose work centers on the theme of personal “self-sovereignty” — the radical claim that each person is the sovereign creator of their own reality.

Emerging from the channeling and conscious-creation milieu influenced by the Seth material, he positions spiritual freedom as the recognition and reclaiming of one’s own creative authority. His book The Messiah Seed and related writings argue that limitation is self-imposed through inherited beliefs, and that awakening means dissolving those beliefs to live as a free, self-defining creator.

His teaching dispenses with external authorities and gurus, insisting that truth is found by trusting one’s own inner knowing.

Self-sovereignty: Frames each individual as the ultimate authority and creator of their experience.

  • Belief as the locus of limitation: Locates freedom in releasing inherited, self-imposed beliefs.
  • Anti-authority stance: Rejects external gurus in favor of inner knowing as the source of truth.
  • Creator identity: Centers reclaiming creative power as the heart of spiritual practice.

Influenced by: the channeling tradition; the Seth material (Jane Roberts); nondual and New Age thought.

  • Influenced: the conscious-creator community; freedom and self-sovereignty teachers.
