William Tiller

Intention ‘imprinting’, psychoenergetics

William A. Tiller (1929–2022) was a genuinely accomplished materials scientist — a Stanford professor emeritus with a substantial mainstream record in crystallization and metallurgy. In the second half of his career he turned to “psychoenergetic science,” founding the Tiller Foundation and publishing experiments in which he claimed that focused human intention, “imprinted” into simple electronic devices (“intention host devices”), could subsequently shift physical measurements such as the pH of water or the activity of enzymes — even at a distance and after a delay.

He proposed an additional “reciprocal” subspace beyond ordinary spacetime to house these effects. Tiller’s case is a striking example of legitimate scientific credentials applied to claims the scientific community does not accept.

He appeared in What the Bleep Do We Know!?, lending it the authority of a Stanford materials scientist. For the manifestation world Tiller is prized because he claims laboratory evidence that intention alters matter — the holy grail of mind-over-matter — but those claims remain.

Intention imprinting: Claimed lab evidence that focused thought, stored in devices, changes physical/chemical measurements.

  • Psychoenergetic science: Built a quasi-formal framework presenting intention as a physical causal agent. - Credentialed validation: His Stanford pedigree (and What the Bleep appearance) is used to dignify mind-over-matter claims.

Influenced by: Materials science/metallurgy; quantum-vacuum concepts (reinterpreted); subtle-energy and esoteric traditions.

  • Influenced: Intention-host-device and “structured water” discourse; energy-medicine; popular quantum-mysticism (What the Bleep).
