Torkom Saraydarian (1917–1997) was an Armenian-American teacher, musician, and prolific author in the Ageless Wisdom tradition descended from Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey.

Born to Armenian parents in Turkey and trained from childhood in esoteric teaching, he taught for over fifty years and produced a very large body of books, among them Cosmos in Man (1973), The Science of Meditation, and The Psyche and Psychism.

He founded the Aquarian Educational Group and the organization that became the TSG Foundation to disseminate his work. Saraydarian’s contribution to the mind-power lineage is his effort to make esoteric psychology practical.

Taking the doctrine of the “seven rays” (seven fundamental qualities or energies said to condition all souls and forms) from Bailey’s voluminous writings, he worked to translate it into concrete guidance for self-knowledge, vocation, relationships, and meditation.

Cosmos in Man maps the human being onto the larger structure of the cosmos, presenting the person as a microcosm whose centers, bodies, and ray-qualities mirror universal principles, an explicit working-out of “as above, so below.” His teaching emphasized disciplined daily practice, observation of one’s own psychological energies, and the gradual alignment of personality with soul, carrying the esoteric-psychology stream into late-twentieth-century spiritual self-development.

Applied seven-ray psychology: Translated the abstract Bailey ray-doctrine into practical guidance for self-knowledge and conduct.

  • Cosmos in Man (1973): Mapped the human being as a microcosm mirroring the structure of the cosmos.
  • Esoteric self-discipline: Stressed daily meditation, self-observation, and the alignment of personality with the higher Self.
  • Prolific transmission: Produced a very large corpus carrying the Ageless Wisdom tradition to a modern audience.
Meditation in the New Age is creative thinking through the light of the Intuition and in conformity with the Divine Plan.
The Science of Meditation (1971)
Meditation leads you into freedom, and instead of being the slave of your egocentric viewpoints and cravings, you become a part or even one with the Cosmic viewpoint.
The Science of Meditation (1971)
Meditation makes you more able in your daily duties and works because it increases your right judgment, sharpens your power of observation, increases your control over your body, quickens your actions and makes them more accurate.
The Science of Meditation (1971)
Meditation gradually cleans you of your glamors to such a degree that you are no longer the slave of your emotions and their effects.
The Science of Meditation (1971)
It is a fact that negative emotions wear out our body, and worries separative and selfish thinking cloud our minds.
