Reality Shifting Community (DR/CR Shifting)

“Reality shifting” is a decentralized internet movement and practice-system—not a single author—that surged on TikTok, Amino, Wattpad, and YouTube around 2020, especially among younger users. Practitioners claim to “shift” their consciousness from their “current reality” (CR) to a “desired reality” (DR), often a self-scripted world (frequently inspired by fiction or fandom, such as Harry Potter’s Hogwarts).

The community has developed an elaborate apparatus of named methods (the Raven method, Alice-in-Wonderland method, pillow method, etc.), “scripts” detailing the desired reality, and shared terminology. As a node, the Reality Shifting community represents the youth-native, collectively-authored edge of the manifestation ecosystem, fusing Neville Goddard’s law of assumption with multiverse/many-worlds imagery, lucid-dreaming and hypnagogic techniques, and fanfiction-style world-building.

Phenomenologically it overlaps with vivid imagination, lucid dreaming, and hypnagogia; metaphysically its claim—literal relocation of consciousness between physical/parallel worlds—falls in the unverified tier of the empirical analysis (explicitly listed there as “timeline shifting / reality shifting between physical worlds”).
