The transmission
Mark L. Prophet (1918–1973) was an American spiritual teacher who, after involvement with earlier ascended-master groups including the Bridge to Freedom, founded The Summit Lighthouse in 1958, claiming to be a “messenger” for the Ascended Master El Morya.
His organization continued and elaborated the I AM current pioneered by the Ballards, transmitting “dictations” said to come from the Masters. In 1963 he married Elizabeth Clare Wulf, who became his co-messenger and, after his death in 1973, his successor and the movement’s principal figure as it grew into the Church Universal and Triumphant.
Mark Prophet established the organizational and doctrinal foundation — decrees, the violet flame, the spiritual hierarchy — on which Elizabeth would build a far larger following.
