Subconscious clearing through intention and a cue word, without tapping
The transmission
Larry P. Nims (1934–2024) was an American clinical psychologist who created Be Set Free Fast (BSFF), an energy-psychology method that distilled tapping-based therapies down to intention and a single cue word. Trained as a clinical psychologist and practicing for decades, Nims began within the muscle-testing and Thought Field Therapy lineage but progressively stripped the procedure of its physical components.
The name is itself a descriptive acronym — Behavioral and Emotional Symptom Elimination Training for Resolving Excess Emotions: Fear, Anger, Sadness, and Trauma — and the method rests on the premise that the subconscious mind is a faithful servant that will carry out clear instructions.
Nims matters to the mind-power lineage because he pushed energy psychology toward its purely mental limit. Where Callahan and Craig required tapping on acupoints, BSFF asks the practitioner to install a pre-agreed cue word and then simply direct the subconscious to clear an emotional charge — no tapping, no muscle test, only intention and command.
This makes BSFF a clean modern restatement of an old New Thought conviction: that the subconscious responds to deliberate, repeated instruction. It sits at the boundary where “energy” methods rejoin pure suggestion and subconscious reprogramming.
What they gave
Be Set Free Fast (BSFF): A subconscious-clearing protocol that replaces physical tapping with intention and a programmed cue word.
- The cue-word mechanism: Installs a single trigger that instructs the subconscious to run the full clearing sequence, treating the subconscious as a literal, obedient executor.
- Tapping-free energy work: Demonstrated that the perceived results of meridian tapping could be sought through directed intention alone, collapsing method into mental command.
- Self-applied practice: Designed BSFF as a self-help tool, extending the do-it-yourself reach of the energy-psychology field.
