Lisa Natoli
Transformation from fear to love through forgiveness
The transmission
Lisa Natoli (born May 2, 1968, in Maine) is a contemporary American teacher and ordained minister of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), an author, and the co-founder and spiritual director of the nonprofit Teachers of God Foundation.
By her own account, she committed her life to God on July 4, 2000, while working in New York City publishing, and within days lost her job and devoted herself fully to ACIM; she credits the practice with the disappearance of long-standing addiction, depression, and alcoholism.
She is best known for her bestselling memoir-teaching Gorgeous for God: Awakening Through A Course in Miracles (2013) and for the free “40-Day Program for Transformation,” an online course built on ACIM principles that has reached thousands of students worldwide.
Natoli’s contribution to the mind-power lineage is a practitioner-facing, daily-practice translation of the Course’s psychology of perception. Rather than treating reality-creation as the manipulation of external circumstance, she teaches transformation as an inner shift from fear to love, with forgiveness, understood in the ACIM sense as the recognition that separation never truly occurred, as its operative mechanism.
Through the Teachers of God Foundation she offers retreats, workshops, podcasts, and structured online programs, and she has integrated this work with non-dual and Advaita Vedanta language, particularly in her later mind-body healing teaching following her own recovery from autoimmune illness.
She co-hosts the weekly Unity FM podcast Living in Joy with her husband Bill Free.
What they gave
Daily-practice translation of ACIM: Recasts the Course’s abstract psychology of forgiveness into accessible, repeatable daily exercises for ordinary practitioners.
- The 40-Day Program for Transformation: Designs a free, structured online curriculum that has guided thousands through a fear-to-love shift using ACIM principles.
- Teachers of God Foundation: Co-founds and directs a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and supporting individual transformation through A Course in Miracles.
- Forgiveness as healing: Frames forgiveness and the release of grievances as the active mechanism for healing addiction, depression, and physical illness, later bridging ACIM with non-dual self-inquiry.
- Memoir as teaching (Gorgeous for God): Uses her own awakening narrative as a popular, widely read on-ramp into ACIM for a general audience.
In their words
THE LIGHT DOES THE WORK. It makes you look good. How do we begin to change the world standard? I have no idea. I suppose it would start with a few good role models. People who would say, ‘I’m going to be myself’ and let this be enough. It starts with me. To demonstrate that I am good enough. Not later, but now. I am whole and perfect as God created me.
The line they stand in
Lisa Natoli stands in the direct contemporary lineage of A Course in Miracles, the body of teaching scribed by Helen Schucman (with William Thetford) and published in 1976.
She works within the interpretive tradition shaped by Kenneth Wapnick, the Course’s principal early editor and theologian, carrying ACIM’s psychology of forgiveness and its reframing of the external world as a projection of mind into a practitioner-focused, program-based format.
Alongside popularizers such as Marianne Williamson and Gabrielle Bernstein, she belongs to the generation that has taken ACIM from text to lived daily practice for a mass audience, while extending it toward non-dual and Advaita Vedanta themes in her mind-body healing work.
