Strategic sorcery

Jason Miller (Inominandum, b. c. 1973) is an American author and teacher who developed the framework of “strategic sorcery” — an integrative, results-driven approach to practical magic that draws on Western ceremonial magic, hoodoo and conjure, and Tibetan Buddhist practice.

He runs an ongoing course and community of the same name. His books — The Sorcerer’s Secrets, Financial Sorcery, Protection & Reversal Magick, and The Elements of Spellcrafting — emphasize combining magical work with concrete mundane action, rejecting the idea that intention alone is sufficient.

His signature stance is that magic should “stack the odds” and be married to practical strategy.

Strategic sorcery: A disciplined synthesis insisting that magical intention must be paired with real-world action to produce results.

  • Critique of pure manifestation: Directly pushes back on “just visualize it” thinking, foregrounding effort and probability.
  • Daily practice architecture: Provides structured routines uniting meditation, energy work, and spellcraft.
  • Cross-tradition integration: Blends ceremonial, folk, and Buddhist methods into a coherent operative system.

Influenced by: chaos magic; Tibetan Buddhism; hoodoo/conjure; ceremonial magic.

  • Influenced: practical-sorcery practitioners; results-magic and manifestation-via-sorcery readers.
