Practical healing and Christian metaphysics

Annie Rix Militz was an American New Thought teacher and a leading student of Emma Curtis Hopkins.

She founded the Home of Truth, a network of New Thought centers concentrated on the U.S. West Coast, and edited the periodical Master Mind. Her writings, including Primary Lessons in Christian Living and Healing and commentaries such as The Sermon on the Mount, presented an accessible, devotional metaphysics of healing, prosperity, and the realization of one’s divine nature.

Militz’s significance is as a key institution-builder and teacher in the second generation of New Thought—those trained directly by Hopkins (the “teacher of teachers”) who then spread the movement nationally. Through the Home of Truth and her publishing, she helped establish New Thought on the West Coast and reinforced the practical-healing emphasis: affirmation, denial of error, and conscious unity with God.

She belongs to the network of women teachers (Hopkins, Cady, Brooks, Fillmore) who carried the metaphysical-healing method that ultimately underlies modern affirmation and manifestation practice.
