The Teachers
A Teacher
Margaret Lumley Brown
The Inner Light’s ‘Arch-Pythoness’ who succeeded Dion Fortune as its medium.
The transmission
Margaret Lumley Brown was a British medium, seeress and writer who became the resident trance medium of the Society of the Inner Light. Following Dion Fortune’s death in 1946, she took over the order’s psychic work, holding the role until about 1961.
Honoured as the society’s ‘Arch-Pythoness’, she has been described as one of the finest mediums of the 20th century.
What they gave
Her mediumistic transmissions supplied much of the Society’s inner teaching from 1946 to 1961 and later furnished source material for Gareth Knight’s works on Arthurian and Qabalistic esotericism.
The line they stand in
She succeeded Dion Fortune as the principal psychic of the Society of the Inner Light.
