She carried mental-healing across the Atlantic and planted New Thought in Britain.

Henrietta Frances Lord was an English writer and women’s rights advocate who became one of the figures who brought New Thought and mental-healing ideas to Britain.

After encountering Christian Science in the United States, she wrote ‘Christian Science Healing: Its Principles and Practice’ (1888), published in both London and Chicago. The book presented mental and spiritual healing for a British and home-study readership, treating sickness as an illusion correctable through right understanding.
