Letting go of inner limitation

Lester Levenson (1909-1994) was an American businessman and physicist-trained entrepreneur who, after a severe health crisis in 1952 - he was reportedly sent home after a second heart attack with little hope of recovery - turned inward and developed a method of systematically releasing unwanted emotions and limiting beliefs.

By his own account he spent roughly three months in intensive self-inquiry and emerged with both his health and his outlook transformed. He came to describe what he found as a simple, repeatable means of “letting go” of the inner resistance he believed lay beneath suffering, ill health, and lack.

For years Levenson taught informally, and in the early 1970s he worked to formalize his approach into a transmissible, non-sectarian system - the practice variously known as the Releasing Technique or Release Technique.

He did not seek mass fame; his teaching spread chiefly through students who organized it into courses. His relevance to the mind-power lineage is twofold: he framed emotional release itself as a tool for both well-being and the manifesting of desired outcomes, and he pointed beyond technique toward a nondual recognition of an unbounded Self.

His story and health claims are presented here as a sincere personal account rather than clinically documented fact.

Releasing as method: He distilled “letting go” of resistant feelings into a concrete, repeatable practice rather than a vague counsel.

  • Emotion as the leverage point: He located the cause of limitation in held emotion and identification, not in circumstance.
  • Release tied to manifestation: He taught that dropping inner resistance both heals and frees desired outcomes to appear.
  • A nondual horizon: His teaching pointed past self-improvement toward recognition of a limitless Self.
The mind is nothing but the sum-total of all thoughts. All thoughts are concepts of limitation.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Now the subconscious mind is only that part of the mind that we refuse to look at! When our desire is strong enough we will dig up these subconscious habits and begin to let go of them.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Everything you are seeking, you are, and very foolishly saying you are not. That’s part of the enigma: everything everyone is seeking with such intensity, one has, and much more.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
The only real purpose of being here on this earth is to learn, or to remember, our original natural state of totality, of complete freedom and no limitation.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Ego is the sense of “I am an individual separate from the All.” In the extreme, it is egotism.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Real, divine love, however, is a constant, persistent acceptance of all beings in the universe, fully, wholly, totally, - as the other beings are, and loving them because they are the way they are.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Love is the state of the Self. It is something you are.
Keys to the Ultimate Freedom
Be more receptive, - surrender your little self and allow the Power of your real Self to flow until It, the Power, is the only power flowing through you.
