The Law of One / Ra (L/L Research)

The Law of One, commonly called “the Ra Material,” is a body of channeled text produced between 1981 and 1984 by L/L Research—the team of Don Elkins (a physics professor and the questioner), Carla Rueckert (the channel), and Jim McCarty (the scribe).

In a series of over a hundred recorded sessions, Rueckert, in trance, delivered material from a source identifying itself as “Ra,” described as a “social memory complex” from the sixth density that had once interacted with ancient Egypt.

The transcripts were published as a multi-volume series (Books I–V), the first appearing in 1981 and the core set consolidated through the mid-1980s. The Ra Material’s contribution to the extradimensional branch of mind-power is a remarkably systematic cosmology that reframes spiritual evolution as a structured, almost engineered process.

All beings are described as expressions of “one infinite Creator,” and consciousness evolves through a graded spectrum of seven “densities” (vibrational levels of awareness), advancing not by belief alone but by polarization—the deliberate choice between “Service to Self” and “Service to Others.” It also introduced the influential notion of the “social memory complex,” a collective consciousness formed when many individuated beings unify.

This architecture—densities, polarity as the engine of evolution, unified collective minds—became a foundational vocabulary for later “5D,” “ascension,” and “starseed” communities, supplying a quasi-scientific tiered model of consciousness that sits alongside Seth’s belief-creation and Bashar’s excitement-navigation.
