Vishen Lakhiani is a Malaysian-born entrepreneur and author who founded Mindvalley, one of the largest online personal-growth education platforms, and wrote The Code of the Extraordinary Mind (2016) and The Buddha and the Badass.

A former technology professional shaped by training in the Silva Method, he built Mindvalley as a marketplace aggregating teachers across meditation, manifestation, health, and mindset, packaging transformational content for a global digital audience.

Lakhiani’s significance is structural as much as doctrinal: he industrialized and platformed the human-potential tradition, giving figures across the manifestation and consciousness world a polished distribution channel and a shared vocabulary of “consciousness engineering,” “models of reality,” and “systems for living.” His own teaching blends Silva-derived visualization and intuition with goal-setting, “bending reality,” and questioning culturally inherited “brules” (bullshit rules). He represents the entrepreneurial, scalable face of modern mind-power culture.

Platforming the field: Built Mindvalley as a global distribution hub for manifestation, meditation, and mindset teachers.

  • “Consciousness engineering”: Framed self-development as a systematic, model-based discipline.
  • Silva-derived practice: Carried Silva Method visualization and intuition techniques into a contemporary online format.
  • “Brules” and reality-bending: Popularized questioning inherited rules and consciously designing one’s model of reality.
In this way our thoughts literally do construct our world. We create and receive these constructs. We transmit them from generation to generation. They can be incredibly empowering or completely restrictive.
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind (2016)
If so much of what we call life is mostly created by our thoughts and beliefs, then much of what we take to be real—all the constructs, rules, and ‘shoulds’ of the culturescape—is nothing more than an accidental tweak of history. Much of what you think is true is all in your head.
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind (2016)
Outside the rules of physics and the rules of law, all other rules are open to questioning.
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind (2016)
A Brule is a bullshit rule that we adopt to simplify our understanding of the world.
