Robert Bruce

Robert Bruce (b. 1955) is an English-born mystic and author living in Australia, best known for his studies of out-of-body experience, which became public in the early 1990s through his activity in the alt.out-of-body internet newsgroup.

His major book, Astral Dynamics: A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences (Hampton Roads, 1999), became one of the most widely read modern manuals on astral projection, distinguished by its practical, troubleshooting-oriented tone and its attention to the felt mechanics of leaving the body.

Bruce’s distinctive contribution is the linkage of OBE induction to deliberate stimulation of the energy body. His New Energy Ways (NEW) technique uses focused awareness and what he calls tactile imaging — moving attention through the body as if physically touching it — to raise and circulate energy as preparation for projection.

Within the mind-power lineage he stands as a key popularizer who treated the subtle/energy body as something to be trained and felt directly, bridging older esoteric energy doctrines with a hands-on, experiential method for a mass online audience.
