The transmission
Richard Bartlett (b. c. 1956) is an American chiropractor and naturopath who developed “Matrix Energetics,” a healing and transformation system he introduced in the mid-2000s.
He describes discovering that by lightly touching two points on a person while holding a particular focused, playful state of consciousness, apparent shifts in physical structure and wellbeing could occur. His book Matrix Energetics: The Science and Art of Transformation frames the work using metaphors drawn from quantum physics — the observer effect, wave-collapse, parallel possibilities — to suggest that consciousness can “drop into” and reshape a person’s energetic “matrix.” He teaches the method in large seminars.
The quantum framing is a paradigmatic case of physics-vocabulary applied metaphorically to mind-power claims, and its scientific basis is contested.
What they gave
Matrix Energetics “two-point” method: A simple consciousness-and-touch technique for inducing perceived shifts.
- Playful/imaginal state: Emphasizes a relaxed, imaginative state of focus as the operative ingredient.
- Quantum-possibility framing: Popularized “collapsing a new reality” language in the energy-healing world.
- Experiential seminars: Spread the modality through large interactive workshops.
The line they stand in
Influenced by: chiropractic and naturopathic practice; quantum-physics metaphors; energy healing.
- Influenced: Matrix Energetics practitioners; the quantum-touch / two-point healing community.
the quantum framing is metaphorical, not established physics.
