Affirmation · “The Subconscious Says Yes”
The Violet Flame
Repeat the short violet-flame mantra (‘I AM a being of violet fire, I AM the purity God desires’) while vividly visualizing a violet flame or light passing through you, in order to ‘transmute’ negative thoughts, feelings, and conditions into a sense of lightness and renewal.
Bring to mind something you want cleared. Repeat — aloud if you can — “I AM a being of violet fire, I AM the purity God desires.” While you repeat it, see a violet flame / pillar of violet light rising through and around you, dissolving the heaviness into lightness and freedom. Keep a steady rhythm; do it for a few minutes, daily, anywhere. It is a mood-and-imagery practice, not a medical treatment.
What it is
The violet flame is the signature purification practice that Elizabeth Clare Prophet popularized for a mass New Age audience.
It combines a spoken decree with a colour-light visualization: you repeat a short mantra while picturing a violet flame (or violet light) rising through and around you, “transmuting” — burning up and transforming — negativity.
Where her general decree work is a broad command-affirmation, the violet flame is the specific cleansing application, attributed in the tradition to the ascended master Saint Germain as his “gift” for the Aquarian age.
The foundational mantra is short and rhythmic: “I AM a being of violet fire, I AM the purity God desires!” It is meant to be repeated — anywhere, “in cars, during chores, or before bed” — while you hold the image of a violet-flame pillar around you.
The Prophets claim the violet “frequency” “revitalizes and invigorates us by changing negative energy that drags us down into positive energy that makes us joyful,” and, more strongly, that it can “transmute the cause behind the effect of disease and negative karma.
The Method
- Settle and set intention. Pause; bring to mind a feeling, fault, or condition you want cleared.
- Take up the mantra. Begin repeating: “I AM a being of violet fire, I AM the purity God desires.” Speak it aloud (or silently when you can’t), present-tense, as a settled fact.
- Visualize the violet flame. Picture a violet flame — or a pillar of violet light, in the Summit form roughly six feet across and nine feet high — rising up through and around your body, passing through the area of difficulty.
- See the transmutation. As you repeat, picture the violet light dissolving the heaviness — the negative thought or feeling being burned up and replaced with lightness, freedom, joy.
- Repeat and build rhythm. Say the mantra many times, letting a steady (and, in classic practice, gradually quickening) rhythm carry it, as with any decree.
- Close gently. Finish with a sense of completion and renewal; return to ordinary activity.
- Make it daily. A few minutes a day builds the felt “momentum” the tradition describes. (Sourcing note: the mantra wording, the violet-flame pillar dimensions, the “anywhere” instruction, and quoted phrases are from Violet Flame to Heal Body, Mind and Soul and The Summit Lighthouse’s violet-flame material; the numbered sequence is an attributed paraphrase. Short fair-use quotes only.)
Source & Lineage
Elizabeth Clare Prophet, Violet Flame to Heal Body, Mind and Soul (1997); also treated in The Science of the Spoken Word (1974).
Lineage: the violet flame and the “I AM” mantra come from the “I AM” Religious Activity of Guy and Edna Ballard, who first taught Saint Germain’s violet-flame purification in the 1930s.
Prophet’s contribution was to package it as the short, endlessly repeatable mantra-plus-visualization that became a mainstream New Age practice. Distinct from its neighbours: this is the colour-light cleansing form, built on a fixed couplet — different from Prophet’s general (broad command-affirmation) and her (white-light protection rather than violet-flame transmutation).
Common refinements
Reciting without imagery. The violet-flame practice is half visualization; saying the words with a blank mind loses most of the effect.
- Expecting it to cure illness. This is the dangerous error the claims invite — keep medical and psychiatric care fully in place (see Safety).
- Forcing a “perfect” mental picture. A loose, felt sense of violet light is enough; straining for a vivid image blocks the relaxation.
- Mistaking a mood lift for karmic erasure. Enjoy the lightness without buying the cosmology that explains it.
