The Tube of Light

Each morning, decree and visualize a cylinder of brilliant white light descending around you to ‘seal’ your aura — using the protective imagery to start the day feeling centred, calm, and shielded from others’ negativity.

Beginner A couple of minutes each morning; repeat through the day as needed Ascended Master Teachings (Summit Lighthouse)
First thing each morning, call on your “I AM Presence” and visualize a brilliant white light — “brighter than the sun on new-fallen snow” — descending to form a cylinder of light around you, crown to feet. Decree it as a sealing, protecting wall; feel yourself centred and steady inside it; close “…in the Light that never, never, never fails!” Refresh the image any time you feel reactive. It centres you — it is not a substitute for real-world caution.

The Tube of Light is Elizabeth Clare Prophet’s standard morning protection practice: a short decree spoken while you visualize a cylinder of brilliant white light descending from above and surrounding your whole body, “sealing” your energy field for the day.

Where the violet flame is about cleansing and the general decree is about commanding, the tube of light is about protection and centring — a way to begin the day feeling steady and shielded.

In the tradition it is described as “a cylinder of sacred fire energy about nine feet in diameter that protects you from negative energy and even from physical danger by sealing your aura,” drawn down from one’s “I AM Presence.” The instruction is explicit and ritual: “Give your ‘Tube of Light’ decree each morning and repeat it as necessary throughout the day,” while you “see the dazzling white light of your I AM Presence, brighter than the sun shining on new-fallen snow, coalescing to form this impenetrable wall of light.

  1. Do it first thing. Make it a morning ritual, before the day’s demands begin; repeat later if you feel scattered or got at.
  2. Address the I AM Presence. Begin the decree by calling on your “I AM Presence” (the Summit text opens, “O my constant, loving I AM Presence…”).
  3. Visualize the descending light. See a brilliant white light — “brighter than the sun shining on new-fallen snow” — descending from above your head, forming a cylinder around you (the classic image is about nine feet across) from above your crown to beneath your feet.
  4. Decree it into place. Speak the decree aloud, affirming the light as a sealing, protecting wall around you.
  5. Feel it sealed. Hold the sense of being enclosed, centred, and steady inside the column of light.
  6. Close on the sealing line. The decree ends affirmingly — “…in the Light that never, never, never fails!” — confirming the protection as established.
  7. Refresh as needed. Re-do the short visualization any time during the day you feel reactive or depleted. (Sourcing note: the morning timing, the white-light cylinder imagery, the ~nine-foot dimension, the opening and closing lines, and quoted phrases are from The Science of the Spoken Word and The Summit Lighthouse’s tube-of-light material; the numbered sequence is an attributed paraphrase. Short fair-use quotes only.)

Elizabeth Clare Prophet, The Science of the Spoken Word (1974), and The Summit Lighthouse’s tube-of-light decree. Lineage: like all Prophet decrees, the tube of light grows from the “I AM” Religious Activity of Guy and Edna Ballard, where the white-light protection of the “I AM Presence” and the “tube of light” imagery originate in the ascended-master current.

Distinct from its neighbours: this is the white-light protection form (centring/shielding to start the day), as opposed to the violet-flame transmutation and the general command-decree.

It sits in imagination assumption because the active ingredient is the sustained protective visualization, with the spoken decree as its vehicle.

Treating it as literal armour. Do not let “I’m sealed in light” substitute for real-world caution or safety measures (see Safety).

  • Rushing past the imagery. The centring comes from actually seeing and feeling the light; gabbling the words alone does little.
  • Skipping it on bad days. The value is in the daily ritual; it works best as a consistent morning anchor, not an emergency-only move.
  • Adopting the persecution framing. You can use the boundary imagery without believing in directed psychic attack.
