Indulge the Feeling of Satisfaction

Generate and repeatedly savour the specific feeling of satisfaction/relief that the desire is already met, as the signal that the desired state has been entered.

Beginner 5–10 min, repeated morning/noon/night New Thought / Law Of Assumption

Assume the desire is already yours, then eat the feeling of satisfaction it brings — the relief of having arrived. Feast on that feeling morning, noon, and night. When you feel genuinely satisfied, you’ve reached the state; rest there.

A technique that isolates one specific emotion — satisfaction, the relief of “I already have this” — and has you deliberately feast on it, repeatedly, until it becomes your settled state. Neville’s marker is that feeling satisfied means you have reached the state desired: “Feeling satisfied means you’ve reached the state desired.” Where “Feel Deeply” is about depth of any fulfilled feeling, this one names the precise feeling to dwell in and treats it as both the method and the confirmation.

  1. Decide the desire is already real. Neville: “deceive yourself into believing that your desire is externally real.” You are blind Isaac, who “cannot see what you are asking for in your outer world” — so you appropriate it by feel.
  2. Clothe yourself in the feeling of fulfilment. “When you clothe yourself in the feeling of its fulfilment, you are eating the feeling of satisfaction.”
  3. Feast on it — repeatedly. “Feast upon this feeling morning, noon, and night, and in a way you do not know your desire will become an objective reality in your world.” It is meant to be returned to through the day, not done once.
  4. Use satisfaction as the gauge. “You can satisfy self by appropriating the feeling that you are what you want to be.” When you feel genuinely satisfied, treat that as the sign the state has been entered.
  5. Feel the relief of being there. In the San Francisco-hotel illustration (from Conception), Neville sits in an imagined familiar place and feels “the satisfaction of being here, the very place I wanted to be. the moment I feel the relief.” The relief of arrival is the operative feeling.

The “eating / feasting on the feeling of satisfaction” material is from Neville Goddard’s lecture “Feel Deeply” (30 May 1969), built on the Genesis allegory of blind Isaac blessing Jacob.

The “feel the satisfaction / relief of being here” illustration is from his lecture “Conception.” It overlaps “Assumptions Harden Into Fact.” It is a focused sibling of Feel Deeply, Catch the Mood, and the Thank You technique (which uses gratitude as its single sustained feeling).

Feeling longing instead of satisfaction. Wanting is the opposite signal; the target emotion is contentment/relief, as if it’s done.

  • Doing it once. Neville’s instruction is explicitly repeated through the day.
  • Vague pleasantness. Aim for the specific satisfaction of having this desire met, not generic good vibes.
  • Striving while “satisfied.” If you still feel you must make it happen, you haven’t yet entered the state.
