Conscious Re-Choosing

Take responsibility for a long-standing limiting pattern, recognise it as a choice you once made, and deliberately make a new, empowered choice in its place.

Beginner 15–30 min Soul Realignment
In 5 lines: Name one long-standing limiting pattern. Ask where you’ve been choosing it (drop the victim frame). See it as a decision, not “just how you are.” State the new choice in the present, as already made. Anchor it to one concrete action — and do that action soon.

Conscious Re-Choosing is the self-applicable kernel of Andrea Hess’s Soul Realignment® method, lifted out of its metaphysical machinery and rendered as a plain psychological exercise.

In Soul Realignment, a practitioner is said to read your “Akashic records” with a pendulum, locate the past “negative choices” that created your present blocks, and “clear” them. But underneath it sits a move you can do entirely on your own, with no records and no practitioner: identify a long-standing limiting pattern, recognise that on some level you have been choosing it, take ownership of that, and then deliberately make a different choice. Hess’s own framing is that “acceptance of responsibility enables you to acknowledge your inner power to make new choices that empower you.” Stripped of the divination, that is intention-setting plus belief-reframing — and it stands on its own.

It operationalises Creation Is Finished (you have free will / the power to choose), Only Love Is Real (the meaning of an event is assigned, not fixed), The Inner Creates the Outer (belief shapes outcome), and The Inner Creates the Outer (identity precedes circumstance).

Soul Realignment is taught as a three-stage arc — Discovery → Understanding → Clearing — built around a pendulum reading of the Akashic records. Honestly separated, only the inner moves transfer; the “reading” and “energetic clearing” are the modality’s belief, not a technique you can verify. The self-practice version:

  1. Name one specific, long-standing pattern. Not a mood — a recurring theme: “I undercharge and over-deliver,” “I sabotage things just before they succeed,” “I won’t ask for help.” Pick one.
  2. Drop the victim frame and ask where you’ve been choosing it. This is Hess’s pivot: instead of “this keeps happening to me,” ask “what have I been getting, protecting, or avoiding by keeping this in place?” Soul Realignment’s language is that the work helps you “take ownership of your issues … and acknowledge your inner power to make new choices.” (You do not have to believe the choice was made in a past life for ownership to do its work — owning it now is enough.)
  3. See it as one choice among several — so it was never “just how I am.” As with any reframing, the unlock is recognising the pattern was a decision you can revisit, not a fixed fact about you. This is where Only Love Is Real and The Inner Creates the Outer do the work: the pattern is a meaning you assigned and an identity you adopted, both revisable.
  4. State the new choice, in the present, as a decision already made. Replace the old pattern with a clear, owned re-decision: “I now choose to price my work at its real value,” “I choose to let support in.” Hess frames the modality’s “clearing” as the consequence of conscious choice — here, the conscious choice is the whole exercise.
  5. Anchor it to one concrete action. A re-choice that never touches behaviour evaporates. Name the first small action that proves the new choice and do it soon. (Sourcing note: the three-stage arc and the quoted phrases above are paraphrased faithfully from Soul Realignment’s published descriptions, quoted briefly under fair use. The full certification method — pendulum protocols and Akashic-record clearing scripts — is Hess’s proprietary course; this entry renders only the transferable self-practice.)

Andrea Hess (a professional intuitive from c. 2005) founded Soul Realignment® in 2007 and authored Unlocking Your Divine Business Blueprint.

The system draws on the Akashic-records tradition (Theosophy, Edgar Cayce) and on intuitive/energy-healing practice. Within this Atlas the re-choosing kernel sits beside Morty Lefkoe’s belief-elimination process, Byron Katie’s The Work, and other ownership-and-reframe methods; the Akashic-reading wrapper sits beside ThetaHealing “belief work” and Christie Marie Sheldon’s “abundance blocks.”

Sliding from ownership into self-blame. “I chose this” is meant to restore agency, not to make you guilty — and it must never be turned on genuine trauma, abuse, illness, or accident. Owning a response pattern is fair; “blaming” yourself for harm done to you is a misuse.

  • Naming the pattern too vaguely. “I’m just unlucky” can’t be re-chosen. Work one specific, concrete pattern.
  • Re-choosing in the abstract. A new choice with no action attached (step 5) doesn’t hold.
  • Outsourcing the work to the reading. Believing a practitioner “cleared” you while you change nothing is the opposite of the empowering move; the leverage is your owned re-decision.
  • Treating it as fact-finding about past lives. You don’t need the metaphysics; present ownership is enough.
