Surrender  ·  “Let Go to Receive”

Spirit-to-Spirit

A short three-step inner prayer used before any healing, intuitive, or decision-making act: affirm your own spirit, affirm the spirit/divinity in the other(s), and surrender the outcome to a Higher Power — claimed to establish energetic boundaries and ensure ‘only the highest outcome’ for everyone.

Beginner 1–5 min Energy Work / Channeled
Spirit-to-Spirit in 3 lines: (1) Centre in your own spirit (not your fear/agenda).

(2) Honour the spirit in the other (or the highest truth of the matter).

(3) Surrender the outcome to the Higher Power — the key step. Then act, from that centred place. It settles you; it isn’t shown to move energy.

Spirit-to-Spirit is Cyndi Dale’s signature opening practice: a quick, three-step inner prayer she teaches as the safe “way in” before doing energy healing, intuitive work, prayer, manifesting, or simply navigating a charged situation.

The idea is to re-orient yourself out of fearful, grasping ego and into a centred, surrendered stance in under a minute, so that whatever follows is done from your “best self” rather than your reactivity. Dale presents it as establishing energetic boundaries and inviting the “highest outcome” for everyone involved.

Three steps, done silently or aloud:

  1. Affirm your own spirit. Acknowledge your own essential self / soul — your innermost divine spark. You centre in your own spirit rather than your fear, agenda, or wound. (Dale frames this as moving from ego to spirit.)
  2. Affirm the spirit of others. Acknowledge the spirit / divine essence in the other person(s) — or, in a non-relational situation, the highest truth of the matter. This step is meant to activate the best in the other and meet them spirit-to-spirit rather than ego-to-ego.
  3. Surrender to the Spirit (the Higher Power). Here “Spirit” means the Divine — God, the Holy Spirit, Allah, the Goddess, the Greater Spirit, however you name a Higher Power. Dale calls this the most important step: you surrender your will to the Spirit’s will, asking that the optimal outcome unfold and entrusting protection and direction to that higher source. After the three steps you proceed with whatever you were going to do, now from a centred, surrendered place. Dale often pairs it with a companion practice she calls “Healing Streams of Grace” (asking that ever-present streams of grace flow through the situation), but the three-step Spirit-to-Spirit prayer stands on its own. (Faithful summary of the publicly taught three steps; not a reproduction of Dale’s full copyrighted text.)

Cyndi Dale is an intuitive, energy healer, and prolific author (The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy, Subtle Energy Techniques, and many others).

Spirit-to-Spirit is the foundational technique threaded through her teaching and courses (e.g. her “Vital Energy Tools, Spirit-to-Spirit and Healing Streams of Grace” intensives). Its shape — centre yourself → honour the other → hand the outcome to a Higher Power — is a modern, ecumenical restatement of a very old religious move: the surrendering prayer that precedes action (“not my will but thine”).

It belongs with the surrender practices in this lineage rather than with active energy-manipulation techniques.

Treating surrender as passivity. “Surrender the outcome” is an inner stance, not permission to skip real action (calling a doctor, leaving danger, making the decision).

  • Using it to override others’ consent/boundaries. Honouring “the spirit of the other” does not license doing energy work on people who haven’t asked for it.
  • Rushing the third step. Dale calls surrender the key step — let it actually land rather than reciting it.
  • Crediting results to energy. If you feel calmer and act better, that’s the composure effect; don’t over-claim a metaphysical transfer.
