Asking the Violet Flame to Neutralize the Day's Negativity
The instant a negative thought, emotion, or reaction surfaces, pause, ask the violet flame to neutralize it ‘with humility and gratitude,’ inviting Divine Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness, then let the heaviness be felt as released.
Jones’s in-the-moment violet-flame clearing: The instant a negative thought or feeling arises, pause, take one breath into the heart, and humbly, with gratitude, ask the violet flame to neutralize it — inviting Divine Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness for yourself and any other. Feel the heaviness release, give thanks, and return to your day. Repeat as often as needed.
What it is
This is Aurelia Louise Jones’s everyday, on-the-spot form of violet-flame work — distinct from the fixed-couplet mantra (Elizabeth Clare Prophet) and the formal “I AM” decree (Guy Ballard).
Where those are scheduled practices, Jones’s signature instruction is a continuous daily habit: the moment a negative thought, emotion, or reaction arises, you immediately and humbly ask the violet flame to neutralize it, framing the request as one for Divine Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness, and felt as a gentle release rather than a forceful command.
The tone is gratitude and surrender, not assertion. It belongs in emotional release because its real-world function is in-the-moment emotional clearing — catching reactivity early, before it compounds.
The Method
Faithfully described from Jones’s violet-flame material (short attributed phrases only):
- Catch it in the moment. As Jones teaches, “whenever we have a negative thought or emotion,” do not suppress or feed it — turn toward it at once. This is a present-moment practice (Everything Happens in the Now): the work happens the instant the feeling arises.
- Pause and take one deep breath, dropping into the heart. Jones consistently begins flame work by connecting with the heart and Higher Self before invoking (see her heart-breath practice). Even a single breath shifts you out of reaction.
- Ask — humbly, with gratitude. Silently or aloud, ask the violet flame to neutralize and transmute the negativity. Jones stresses the attitude: “with humility and gratitude,” not as a demand. The request explicitly invites Divine Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness — toward yourself, and toward whoever or whatever triggered the reaction.
- Picture and feel the release. Briefly sense the heaviness being dissolved — a violet light passing through the feeling, the charge easing. The felt sense of letting-go is the operative part (The Inner Creates the Outer): you are working with feeling, not argument.
- Give thanks and return. Close with a quiet thank-you and go straight back to what you were doing. No lingering, no monitoring whether it “worked.”
- Repeat all day. The practice is cumulative — many small clearings rather than one long session. (Sourcing note: the “negative thought or emotion → immediately ask for neutralization, with humility and gratitude” instruction and the “Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness” framing are attributed paraphrase of Jones’s published violet-flame guidance; the numbered sequence is reconstructed from it. Short fair-use phrases only.)
Source & Lineage
Aurelia Louise Jones (c.1940–2009), founder of Mount Shasta Light Publishing and principal voice of the Telos / Lemurian teachings, set out her flame practices in The Seven Sacred Flames and Prayers to the Seven Sacred Flames, with violet-flame invocations and a temple-journey meditation in Telos Volume 2.
Lineage: the violet flame descends from the “I AM” Religious Activity of Guy and Edna Ballard (1930s), attributed to the ascended master Saint Germain, and was popularized for a mass audience by Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
Jones inherited this stream and localized it within her Telos / inner-earth cosmology, emphasizing a humble, heart-led, forgiveness-infused, moment-by-moment application rather than a set decree. Distinct from its neighbours: Prophet’s is a fixed couplet plus pillar-visualization; Ballard’s is the original commanding decree.
Jones’s form is the everyday, in-the-moment, gratitude-and-forgiveness clearing — which is why it is filed under emotional release, not affirmation.
The Traditions' versions
The underlying move — notice the disturbance the instant it arises, turn toward it, and release it with compassion — recurs widely: - Prophet’s violet-flame mantra — the scheduled, couplet-based cleansing form.
- Ballard’s violet consuming flame decree — the original commanding “I AM” form.
- Forgiveness for release (Ponder; Renard’s “true forgiveness”) — clearing resentment as the act that frees you.,
- Affect labelling / acceptance (CBT, mindfulness) — naming an emotion and allowing it, which down-regulates the amygdala response.
- Self-compassion (Neff) and metta — meeting one’s own reactivity with kindness rather than judgment.
Common refinements
Using it to bypass real feeling. “Just neutralize it” can become avoidance. Some emotions (grief, legitimate anger, signals of a real problem) need to be felt and acted on, not dissolved away.
- Demanding instead of asking. Jones’s instruction is humble — gratitude, not command. The grasping, controlling stance reinstates the stress it’s meant to ease.
- Skipping the breath/heart pause. Firing off the words while still in full reaction does little; the one breath into the heart is what creates the gap.
- Withholding the forgiveness. The mercy/forgiveness element — toward self and other — is the part that actually softens the charge. Don’t drop it.
- Treating it as a substitute for action. Clear the reactivity, then take the practical step the situation calls for.
