What it was
José Silva, a self-taught Texan, developed the Silva Method (originally Silva Mind Control) through experiments in the 1940s-60s, releasing it publicly in 1966.
It taught a relaxed “alpha” brain state reached by countdown, then visualisation, affirmation and intuitive “projection” to influence health and circumstance. Marketed worldwide as a course, it brought disciplined mind-training to millions.
Its place in the lineage
Silva translated the New Thought and visualisation lineage into a packaged, secular self-development course — a direct ancestor of modern manifestation and mind-hacking culture.
