What it was
Religious Science grew from Ernest Holmes’s 1926 textbook The Science of Mind and the Institute he founded in Los Angeles in 1927, with his brother Fenwicke.
It systematised New Thought into a step-by-step method of “spiritual mind treatment” — affirmative prayer that treats thought as causative. Its congregations continue today as Centers for Spiritual Living.
Its place in the lineage
One of the three great organised New Thought churches alongside Unity and Divine Science — the institutional home of the Science of Mind.
