What it was
The C.G. Jung Institute was founded in Zürich in 1948 by Jung and colleagues including Jolande Jacobi to train analysts and transmit analytical psychology.
Through it passed the figures who carried Jung’s work into the world — Marie-Louise von Franz, James Hillman, Barbara Hannah, Aniela Jaffé and many others.
Its place in the lineage
The institutional home of depth psychology, where Jung’s ideas became a transmissible profession rather than one man’s vision.
