What it was
The Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor surfaced publicly around 1884, offering correspondence instruction in practical occultism, astrology and sexual magic drawn in part from Paschal Beverly Randolph.
Presenting itself as an older Western initiatic current, it became an important alternative to the Theosophical Society and a source for later magical orders.
Its place in the lineage
A key conduit of practical Western magic between Randolph’s work and the Golden Dawn and Rosicrucian revival.
