Swami Sivananda founded the Divine Life Society at Rishikesh in 1936 to disseminate Yoga, Vedanta and ‘divine life’ through service, devotion and meditation.
A prolific author, Sivananda trained disciples — Vishnudevananda, Satchidananda, Chinmayananda among them — who carried Yoga across the world.
