What it was
Rudolf Steiner founded the Anthroposophical Society in 1912-13 after breaking with the Theosophical Society, and refounded it at the 1923 Christmas Conference, headquartered at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.
Anthroposophy presents a disciplined path of inner development aimed at perceiving spiritual realities, and has produced remarkably practical offshoots — Waldorf schools, biodynamic agriculture and anthroposophic medicine.
Its place in the lineage
Anthroposophy is the major branch that split from Theosophy, carrying the same esoteric impulse into education, agriculture and the arts.
