The Third Eye
Ascended MastersThe Third Eye presents itself as the memoir of a Tibetan lama with extraordinary psychic attainments, though its author was in fact an Englishman who had never visited Tibet. Its claims center on the opening of the "third eye" as a center of clairvoyant perception, together with aura reading and astral travel.
Narrated as initiation and training within a Tibetan monastic setting, the book brought subtle-energy and out-of-body concepts to a mass paperback audience, and later introduced the notion of "walk-in" transmigration, one soul replacing another in a living body.
Scholars regard the content as fabricated rather than authentic Tibetan teaching, yet within the ascended-masters current the work served as a major gateway, supplying occult motifs that fed the New Age imagination for millions of readers.

The Daily Quiet Period — Alder's graded meditation of stilling, aspiration and review
