The Secret Science Behind Miracles
Huna & Ho'oponoponoThe Secret Science Behind Miracles sets out the system its author named Huna, claiming to have reverse-engineered the lost psychological and magical knowledge of the Hawaiian kahuna, partly through analysis of the Hawaiian language. Its central model is of three selves connected by mana, a vital force.
The three selves, a subconscious, a conscious mind, and a high self, form a practical psychology in which the conscious mind must enlist the subconscious to reach the high self, while focused intention accumulates and directs mana toward goals. The subconscious is treated as the operative layer, echoing New Thought emphasis on programming the inner mind.
The provenance is contested: scholars and many Native Hawaiians regard Huna as a twentieth-century reconstruction with a New Thought flavor rather than authentic Hawaiian tradition, a flag worth keeping in view.

The Three-Self Huna Prayer — Planting the Seed and Sending It to the High Self
Long's central practice. In his "Huna" model a person is three selves: the low self (unihipili, subconscious, holds memory and makes mana), the middle self (uhane, the conscious "I"), and the High Self (Aumakua, a…
