Revelation: The Birth of a New Age

by David Spangler

Findhorn / New Age spirituality

Revelation: The Birth of a New Age grew out of experiences Spangler described as "transmissions" received during his years at the Findhorn community. Its central claim is that the New Age is not an automatic astrological inevitability but a set of new cosmic energies made available to humanity.

The argument insists on conscious co-creation: these energies can bring about a transformed age only if they are deliberately accepted and worked with through dedicated spiritual effort. Spangler thus reframes the New Age as a responsibility rather than a fate, an emphasis he later carried into a grounded, embodied "incarnational" spirituality.

The work gave the early New Age movement intellectual and spiritual coherence. Better understood as a reflective theologian of the movement than a trance medium, Spangler is recorded here as a sincere voice who articulated what the New Age might genuinely mean.
